Sky Mavis has reported the biggest price ever paid for a plot of land in its NFT hit Axie Infinity. Digital real estate was sold for 550 ETH, which is more than $2.3 million.
NFT games continue to generate tons of money. On November 24, one Axie Infinity player sold a Genesis Land Plot for a record-breaking sum in the platform’s history.
“Our player-owned Digital nation continues to shock the world,” Sky Mavis wrote on Twitter.
According to Tech in Asia, this transaction beats the previous Axie Infinity record, when nine pieces of digital real estate were sold for $1.5 million in February.

While NFT and blockchain titles are now drawing a lot of criticism, they attract investments and users across the globe. Earlier this week, The Metaverse Group acquired a plot of digital land in Decentraland for about $2.4 million — a price higher than most real-life houses.
Some companies and platform holders, however, are going against NFT and the whole concept of decentralized gaming. Last month, Valve removed all titles with NFTs from Steam, making dozens of developers of blockchain-based titles sign a petition asking the company to lift the ban.
